Task Horizon proudly unveils the seventh instalment of the acclaimed “Respawned” Remix Series, a project that has already delivered powerful reinterpretations from the likes of Phace, Burr Oak, Joe Ford, Malux and Ekwols. This time, the spotlight turns to a true Drum & Bass icon and pioneer of Neurofunk, as Ed Rush steps forward with his monumental rework of Task Horizon’s classic, “Forbidden Planet”.

The intro opens with the signature pads and core elements of the original track, paying homage to its central narrative while weaving in subtle Ed Rush alterations that signal his presence from the outset. Each 16-bar section grows in intensity, layering additional tension while staying true to the source material’s progression. The remix then drops into an onslaught of call-and-response sections, with Ed Rush honouring the structure of the original while injecting his own flair and precision into every movement.

The breakdown returns to the signature pads before Ed Rush shifts direction for the second drop, diving straight back into the roots of the Virus sound. Steppy basses and that unmistakable Pacman/Chubrub-esque energy tear through the arrangement, elevating the remix to an even more intense and explosive level.

With just one instalment left before the full Respawned project is revealed, the Ed Rush remix stands as one of the most defining moments in the series, and a powerful reminder of how legacy, innovation and respect for the craft can coexist in perfect balance.
