Some collaborations just make sense. And when you’re kicking off 30 years of CIA Records, you probably want to start with something that connects the dots between where it all began and where things are at right now.

For the opening release in our 30 year celebrations, label owners Total Science team up with Manchesters finest Kubai for a collaboration that does exactly that.

‘Rack ’Em Up’ is a clear nod to 90s jungle, opening with a soulful, musical intro before flipping the switch into a hard-hitting jungle skanker. Classic in spirit but sharp in execution, it’s a tune that tips its hat to the foundations without getting stuck in the past.

On the flip, ‘Swamp Thing’ heads straight into darker territory. Murky, weighty and rolling with intent, it’s a no-nonsense stepper built for low-lit rooms and big systems, carrying that unmistakable CIA heaviness throughout.

This release isn’t about nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake. It’s about recognising the roots, celebrating the journey, and setting the tone for what’s to come. Thirty years deep. And we’re still moving forward.
