Some collaborations take years to get moving. Others just need a few takeaways, a bottle of red and a healthy disregard for productivity.
Idle Means brings together longtime friends Minor Forms & Royce, two producers united by a love of being lazy and making great Drum & Bass. A project long in the making, the duo have quickly carved out their own space within the genre, combining years of individual experience with a shared musical instinct.
The ‘Cruise Control EP’ showcases their impressive range, moving from dark, murky steppers to soulful-tinged rollers, with every track bringing its own character and top-class production. Varied in style but consistent in quality, the EP demonstrates just how effortlessly the pair can move between different sounds while maintaining serious weight.
Late-night studio sessions, leftfield samples and minimal unnecessary effort — the results speak for themselves.
