Completed before Fats' passing in 2023, this album stands as a testament to his lifelong love of Drum & Bass and the culture around it. V is especially proud to be working closely with Mo, Fats' widow, to bring this body of work into the world exactly as he intended.
'Rock Up The Vibe' is the first taster of what's to come, a celebratory, feel-good cut that sets the tone. Built around rolling drums, warm bass and an unmistakable sense of uplift, it captures the essence of both MCs: Fats' infectious warmth and soul-led delivery paired with Inja's sharp, energetic presence.
MC Fats was one of the most beloved voices in Drum & Bass. From his early days in the jungle era through to becoming a defining presence in liquid D&B and beyond, his contributions helped shape the sound and spirit of the scene for over two decades.
Fats and Inja shared a genuine musical bond built on mutual respect, shared values and a deep love for the culture. That connection runs throughout the album, which moves fluidly between soulful liquid rollers and more direct, dancefloor-focused moments, anchored by their unique personalities.
'Rock Up The Vibe' is an introduction to a very special album and a celebration of MC Fats' legacy. A reminder of why he was so loved, and why his voice will always be part of Drum & Bass.
