Hailing from the rugged, industrial landscape of Vorkuta, Russia, Shtefan Ivanov has carved a distinctive path under multiple guises. Originally known as one half of Saint Robbers, the duo gained widespread attention through a run of impactful releases, including their 2021 outing on Evolution Chamber with “Quality Train / Happy Day.” The duo’s sound earned them recognition across the scene, yet after several successful releases, Shtefan felt the pull toward a direction that reflected his own personal artistic identity.

That decision led to the birth of his solo project MNTL in 2022. His debut release, “Gearbox” on Neuropunk, produced alongside long-time collaborator Grinder, marked a bold entry point and quickly set the tone for what MNTL would represent: energy, grit and a forward-leaning approach that refuses to be boxed into one lane. Since then, MNTL has delivered a steady stream of releases on labels such as Ozriderz and Neuropunk, each one solidifying the foundations of his new chapter.

Now, MNTL steps onto the artist-run label Evolution Chamber for the first time with his debut release on the imprint and a statement project designed to announce his arrival in full: the ‘Rock In Roll Race’.

The EP contains five tracks, each carrying its own identity while contributing to an overarching narrative of variety, confidence and raw expression.

The title track, “Rock In Roll Race,” opens the release with high-octane energy and immediately sets the stage for the chaos, character and intensity that follows. Next up comes “Until Dawn,” a track that nods to Shtefan’s earlier years with Saint Robbers, bridging past and present in a way that feels both familiar and refreshed. The momentum increases with “Magical Move,” a bold and energetic cut that leans into experimental territory without losing its direct impact. MNTL then pivots into darker textures with “Don’t Kill You,” a moody and atmospheric track that highlights his ability to shift tone and emotion effortlessly across the EP’s journey.
