Australia has long held a powerful reputation for producing globally respected names such as Pendulum, ShockOne, Phetsta and Ekko & Sidetrack, to name just a few. From explosive festival anthems to underground dancefloor weapons, the country has consistently delivered artists with individuality, technical ability and raw energy. Emerging from Melbourne, Nemean is quickly becoming another serious name added to that lineage.
Since debuting in 2018 with the “Crocodile EP” on The Tech Collective, Nemean has built strong momentum through releases on labels including Hanzom Music, Darkshire Sound and Eatbrain. Alongside his solo material, he also linked up with Zombie Cats, contributing to remixes for artists including Pendulum, Crissy Criss and Mandidextrous. With his profile continuing to rise, it wasn’t long before he caught the attention of the artist-led Evolution Chamber imprint, where he now steps forward with his debut release, the “Space Dive EP”.
Opening the EP is “Hold On”, a journey-driven introduction that immediately establishes the atmosphere of the release. Rolling drums drive the call sections forward before switching into pounding rhythms and sharp bass stabs that hit with force. The arrangement evolves naturally throughout, setting the tone for the entire EP while drawing the listener deeper into Nemean’s world.
Next comes “Magnetar”, a full-scale dancefloor smasher built around crushing drums and pounding basslines. Acidic stab sequences cut through the arrangement before flipping back into the central heavy groove, giving the track a fierce sense of movement and energy designed for maximum impact in the club.
Closing the release is “Earthshaker”, a ground-and-pound production driven by slamming straight-rhythm drums and increasingly dark intensity. As the track unfolds, it grows heavier, more aggressive and more oppressive with every section, locking into a brutal momentum that refuses to let up.
With the “Space Dive EP”, Nemean delivers a debut that introduces exactly why he is regarded as one of the hottest rising talents from down under. Heavy, focused and built with dancefloors in mind, this release marks the arrival of a producer ready to take his place among Australia’s next generation of Drum & Bass exports.
