PROTOTYPES Vol. 4 is the new chapter of the experimental series from Paperfunk Recordings, built from the works of students of the Neuropunk Academy.


Here, the learning environment shifts into real sound-testing mode. Yesterday’s students move beyond exercises and present their first working models of the drum & bass future: technoid structures, neurofunk pressure, broken rhythmic engineering, and bass designed not for display, but for the dark dancefloor.


The PROTOTYPES series captures the moment when a new generation enters the system and begins to change it from within. Each track sounds like a separate mechanism — fresh, dangerous, not yet tamed by formula, but already powerful enough to survive a full combat test.


In its fourth chapter, this energy becomes denser, sharper, and more confident. Different artists, different methods of construction, different trajectories — one shared impulse: to push drum & bass forward, toward the point where new forms are only just beginning to gain force.


PROTOTYPES Vol. 4 is not just a compilation of students’ works, but the launch of the first sound machines of a new generation. The future is still being assembled, but it is already putting pressure on the system.
