After over 15 years of shaping the landscape of Drum & Bass, Receptor has announced that he will be retiring from the genre. Since his debut in 2008, Receptor has built a legacy defined by innovation, creativity, and fearless experimentation. To mark this pivotal moment, Evolution Chamber is proud to present Receptoration; A tribute project celebrating Receptor’s influential back catalogue through a series of remix singles, each one crafted by producers handpicked by Receptor himself.

With Evolution Chamber given the honour of curating the project, Receptoration represents both a farewell and a celebration, with a look back at a career that helped define an era of Drum & Bass, while giving a new generation of producers the chance to bring their own energy to his timeless works.

The first single from the project delivers an explosive start, with Gydra and Neonlight stepping up to deliver two dynamic reinterpretations.

Receptor - Punks (Gydra Remix): Arguably one of the biggest names to emerge from Russia, Gydra kick things off with one of the most anticipated remixes of 2025. Opening with an uplifting and vibrant introduction that nods to the original’s unmistakable vocal sample, the remix quickly builds tension before erupting into an unforgiving drop. Blending the intensity of neuro with the bounce of jump-up, Gydra’s take is packed with weight, energy, and precision. The track’s long leads and steppy fills drive the momentum forward, delivering a remix that hits with devastating impact and sets a powerful tone for what’s to come in the Receptoration series.

Receptor - Parkour (Neonlight Remix): Following with equal force, German duo and long-time collaborators with Receptor, Neonlight take the reins with their remix of Receptor’s iconic ‘Parkour’. Staying true to the spirit of the original, the track opens with a familiar sense of tension and melody, quickly evolving into a high-energy journey layered with Neonlight’s musical, yet heavy signature sound. As the track progresses, a clever switch-up in the second drop introduces 4x4 drums and lush melodic phrasing, creating a thrilling contrast while still paying full respect to the source material. It’s a remix that feels both nostalgic and forward-focused and a perfect balance between tribute and innovation.

As ‘Receptoration’ unfolds over the coming months, the project promises to be the perfect curtain call for one of Drum & Bass’s most forward-thinking producers. Receptor bows out gracefully, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire artists and fans alike for years to come.
