Riya continues the rollout of her forthcoming album on V Recordings with 'Different Kind', joining forces with Minor Forms and Alex Hill for the latest chapter in the project. One of the most recognisable voices in Drum & Bass, Riya has spent the past decade building a catalogue that spans labels including CIA Records, Metalheadz, Spearhead Records, Toolroom Records, Shogun Audio and now V Recordings. With her latest studio album, 'This Is Riyality', now just around the corner, this track arrives as the final single from the project, showcasing another side of an album built around collaboration, songwriting and the relationships she has developed throughout her career.Minor Forms has steadily established himself as one of the most exciting names of his generation. Emerging from the Arcatype camp, where he also worked with Riya, before carving out his own path, he's built an impressive catalogue across labels including CIA, The North Quarter, Sofa Sound and Overview Music.Alex Hill is a Bristol-based keyboardist, songwriter and producer whose contribution helped shape the original musical foundation of 'Different Kind'. Following his appearance on 'Similarity' earlier in the album campaign, he returns here with another composition written alongside Riya.On 'Different Kind' these creative worlds come together naturally. With Minor Forms providing the production, Alex Hill adding his musical touch and Riya delivering the songwriting and vocal at the heart of the record, the track explores the feeling of being an outsider and finding a place where you belong. As Riya explains: "If you've ever felt like an outsider, or that you don't fit in, this song is for you. I wrote it about the times when I've felt like this, and then I found drum and bass. We are the different kind. Share this with your different kind."
