POTENTIAL BADBOY BRINGS THE DANGER WITH

TIM REAPER ON THE REMIX

A heavyweight rework of standout cuts from the album Elusive

Previous support for Potential Badboy…

“There is nothing potential about Chris McFarlane. Musically, he is a badman, full stop.” - UKF

Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1), Charlie Tee (BBC Radio 1), David Rodigan (BBC Radio 1Xtra), Jeremiah Asiamah (BBC Radio 1Xtra), James Threlfall (BBC Radio Wiltshire), Toddla T (BBC Radio 1), Martha (BBC Radio 1), Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC 6 Music), DJ Target (BBC Radio 1Xtra), MistaJam (BBC Radio 1Xtra), Nemone (BBC 6 Music), René LaVice (BBC Radio 1)

Following the release of his acclaimed jungle album Elusive, UK rave pioneer Potential Badboy (aka Chris McFarlane) returns with Dangerous Remixes - a focused release that reimagines two of the album’s most commanding tracks. Where Elusive explored collaboration, reflection and reinvention, Dangerous Remixes zeroes in on raw energy and impact. This is jungle reduced to its pressure points: heavyweight rhythms, punchy vocals and mixes built for the dancefloor.

Leading the release is Dangerous Is Dangerous (Remix), mixed by Tim Reaper, one of the UK’s most respected figures in modern jungle. Widely recognised for his role in shaping the genre’s contemporary resurgence, Tim Reaper was recently featured in Resident Advisor’s Best 200 Electronic Tracks 2000–2025, who noted in their write-up, “Tim Reaper wasn’t the first millennial to attempt jungle revivalism, but he’s certainly been the best in class.”

For Tru Thoughts, the collaboration felt especially significant. With Tim Reaper reworking a track by one of jungle’s original pioneers, the remix becomes a genuine meeting point between generations, respectful of the foundations while pushing the sound forward with clarity and weight. Featuring the unmistakable presence of the Ragga Twins, the remix sharpens the original’s warning-call energy into a tightly engineered, peak-time tool.

On the flip, We Are Dangerous (VIP Remix) by Potential Badboy himself, hands vocal duties to Junior Dangerous, delivering a fresh, uncompromising take. Potential Badboy strips the track back before rebuilding it with added tension and punch, primed for reloads and rewinds in the dance.

The package is completed with instrumental versions of both remixes, underlining Potential Badboy’s precision as a producer and offering selectors full freedom to work the tracks deep into their sets. With Dangerous Remixes, Potential Badboy reinforces what Elusive made clear: after more than three decades shaping jungle, drum & bass and UK rave culture, his sound remains direct, relevant and uncompromising. This is music rooted firmly in sound system culture, honouring the past while staying locked into the present.
