Mainframe Recordings closes out the year by opening up the vaults. “7 Echoes Vol. 1” launches a new back-catalogue series, celebrating seven essential cuts that helped define the label’s sound and long-running presence in drum & bass.
From early future stars to long-time family members, this first volume brings together a serious cross-section of the Mainframe story. Camo & Krooked’s “The Escape” sets the tone with widescreen atmospherics and rave-ready energy, while A.M.C & MC Phantom deliver pure warehouse pressure on “Hooked.” Dorian & Skore keep things heavy with the no-nonsense club workout “Powertool,” and NCT inject their trademark rolling funk into “Keep It Movin’.”
Label boss DisasZt appears twice: first alongside Shimon & Coppa on the vocal tear-out “Rumours,” then on “Stop ” with ERB n DUB where Smooth flip the original into a razor-sharp dancefloor weapon. Closing the set, TR Tactics push into darker territory with the tech-driven “Vision (Disphonia Remix),” a reminder of the label’s love for uncompromising sonics.
“7 Echoes Vol. 1” is both a snapshot of Mainframe’s past and a statement of intent for the future – seven tracks, seven echoes of what the label stands for: high-impact, forward-thinking drum & bass built for the rave.
